Electrolytic Zinc-Coated Steel (EGI)
Electrolytic Zinc-Coated Steel is cold-rolled carbon steel with a metallic coating of 99.99% zinc applied uniformly over the entire coil by electrolysis. The continuous electrolytic coating process covers the steel surface with a particularly uniform thickness, which can greatly increase the formability of products and joints.

DESCRIPTION:
The steel coils are passed through a series of washes and rinses and then placed in a galvanizing bath. The coating develops as the positively charged zinc ions in the solution are electrolytically reduced to zinc metal and deposited on the negatively charged steel plate. The result is a fine, tightly packed zinc coating on highly ductile steel. The zinc coating protects the base metal by providing a barrier to the corrosive elements and also by the properties of the coating.
Compared to galvanized steel, Electro-Galvanized Steel offers similar performance with lower coating thickness and a brighter, more aesthetic surface. Electro-Galvanized Steel offers superior surface quality, excellent corrosion resistance, superior formability and paintability.
